Overview
Merchants often need different customers to see different payment options. Wholesale or B2B accounts might be limited to bank transfer or purchase order, while retail customers get the full range of cards, PayPal, and buy-now-pay-later options. A VIP or invite-only group might get access to a payment method not shown to anyone else. Out of the box, Magento payment methods are all-or-nothing per store — there's no way to say "only these customer groups can pay this way."
The Payment Method Restriction module solves this directly from the admin panel. For each active payment method, simply select the customer groups allowed to use it — the change takes effect immediately at checkout, with no coding required. Methods you don't configure stay available to everyone, so existing checkout behavior is never accidentally broken when you install the module or add a new payment method later.
